I'm a good liar. A great one. And to be a great liar you have to live your lies, to believe them, to the point that when you tell them to yourself enough times, even what's right before your eyes will bend itself to the falsehood.
~ Mark Lawrence
Our group takes what I'll call a Post-Atheist stance. Our position is that god is a creation of human beings, who only exists because of the clap-hands-if-you-believe-in-fairies principle. If enough people were sensible enough not to clap hands, then this Tinker Bell god would die. However, unfortunately, billions of human beings are still prepared to defend their belief in some sort of god-fairy, and, as a result, god exists. What’s worse is that he is now running amok.
~ Salman Rushdie
There is a reason Mary is everywhere. I've seen her image all over the world, in cafés in Istanbul, on students' backpacks in Scotland, in a market stall in Jakarta, but I don't think her image is everywhere because she is a reminder to be obedient, and I don't think it has to do with social revolution. Images of Mary remind us of God's favor. Mary is what it looks like to believe that we already are who God says we are.
~ Nadia Bolz-Weber
When you say you believe, you allow the possibility of disappointment. And from disappointment or betrayal, there may come despair. Such is the way of the mind.
~ Haruki Murakami
Genuine surprise is a great help when faced with an unwelcome duty. Of course, when it’s the paying of debts you’re forgetting, that can lead to broken fingers. And worse. I guess it’s a form of lying— lying to oneself. And I’m very good at falsehoods. They often say the best liars half-believe their lies— which makes me the very best because if I repeat a lie often enough I can end up believing it entirely, no half measures involved!
I'm surprisingly unconcerned with what people in my church believe. Belief is going to be influenced by all sorts of things that I have nothing to do with, so I don't feel responsible for that. I'm responsible for what they hear — and hearing the gospel, the good news about who God is, slowly forms us over time.
So there you have it: you must believe in something...and that is universal! Believing in nothing is a belief system in itself.
~ Kazeem Olalekan
And although Frieda B. didn't feel it inside, the belief of her friend gave her courage to try.
~ Renata Bowers
Great God.Glorious God.Gracious God.
~ Lailah Gifty Akita
We often behave as though Jesus is only interested in saving and loving a romanticized version of ourselves, or an idealized version of our mess of a world, and so we offer to him a version of our best selves. With our Sunday school shoes on, we sing songs about kings and drummers at his birth, perhaps so we can escape the Herod in ourselves and in the world around us. But we've lost the plot if we use religion as the place where we escape from difficult realities instead of as the place where those difficult realities are given meaning.
The Lord lit my life, with the light of your love.
I do not know your woes, Humans, but I do know that they are abundant. Believe in each other, and stand together, and you will conquer them all.
~ Paul The Astronaut

New Atheism simplicity is the byproduct of collective groupthink, and the internalization of self-congratulatory jingoistic clichés and generalizations. They know because they know, and there's no reasoning with someone who knows.- The New Atheist Threat: The Dangerous Rise of Secular Extremists

The honest investigator must be prepared to follow wherever the search of truth may lead. Truth is often found in the most unexpected places. He must, with fearless and open mind insist that facts are far more important than any cherished, mistaken beliefs, no matter how unpleasant the facts or how delightful the beliefs.
~ Hugh B. Brown
All dreams are realities waiting for us to believe in them.

The Lord is great. The Lord is gracious.
The commendable efforts of preachers to Europe is that Superstition regarding work and wealth was broken. Everybody now knows that wealth comes only from hard work, not from some superstitious beliefs.

We hope to receive what we long for.
Grace is the power of God!
We only set the clocks back and forth in the arrogant belief we have some influence with almighty Time.
~ Dean Cavanagh
We have nothing to lose in this life: We came naked into the world and we will exit naked.
Idealism easily becomes dangerous because it brings with it, almost inevitably, the belief that the ends justify the means. If you are fighting for good or for God, what matters is the outcome, not the path. People have little respect for rules; we respect the moral principles that underlie most rules. But when a moral mission and legal rules are incompatible, we usually care more about the mission.
~ Jonathan Haidt
In a universe in which past, present, and future came into existence all at once, complete from beginning to end, with all possible outcomes of every life woven through the tapestry, there is no chance, only choice, no luck, but only consequences.
~ Dean Koontz
Do you ever wonder about the fairy tales of life?
I live every day as if I can die any moment.
God will save us.
We must repent while the chance exists, to confess our sins.
If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
~ Norman Vincent Peale
The highest function of humanity is belief, that activity of spirit that proceeds upon the pathway of reason, until it comes to some great promontory, and then spreads its wings, and upon the basis of its earlier journeying, takes eternity into its grasp.
~ G. Campbell Morgan
The more we grow in faith, the more we grow in love.
Despite my height, ignorance, heartbreaks, insecurity, criticism, competition, my skin color, that voice in my head that says 'No way', bad luck, a tight budget, insults, fear, flaws, failure and opposition. I believe in myself.
~ Manasa Rao
We wait patiently to receive want we desire.
Hope is a great assurance.
True belief is movement toward God even in the midst of confusion or frustration or fear.
~ Emily P. Freeman
