Like all great things which then become fashions, science, as now the universal stamp of approval, probably receives more abuse than any other field of study. Glaze the word itself over whatever vague ideology one may presume ratified, no matter the degree of pseudo-science or lack of scholarly credibility packaged within, and the many will consume it like gravy on a feast. My thought for the time is that as the promise of true science increases, so shall rise its many more superficial counterparts as provided by the agenda-bound trendies and hyper-ambitious laypersons to boot.
~ Criss Jami
To be a scholar study math, to be a smart study magic.
~ Amit Kalantri
Let us study things that are no more. It is necessary to understand them, if only to avoid them.
~ Victor Hugo
Much of the study of history is a matter of comparison, of relating what was happening in one area to what was happening elsewhere, and what had happened in the past. To view a period in isolation is to miss whatever message it has to offer.
~ Louis L'amour
Assiduity, it means sit down until you do it. Commit yourself to your work and study.
~ Lucas Remmerswaal
Early to bed and early to rise may make a person 'healthy' but it may not make him ‘wealthy’ and ‘wise’! If anyone really wants to be wealthy and wise, he must read books and work intelligently!

We often use the Bible as a source for personal validation and defense, a sidekick and a shield, but these will prove ineffective without first the other part. We must also allow ourselves to be wounded by it. We tend to forget its authority - that it is a double-edged sword. Our decrepit, depraved hearts must be completely ripped out in order to welcome that of God.
She wanted to make sure she studied all the manuals thoroughly, but she had to admit that part of her hesitation was the unsettling length of the list of things that could go wrong if she mishandled the pressure.
~ Jaleigh Johnson

Study the scriptures.
As every divided kingdom falls, so every mind divided between many studies confounds and saps itself.
~ Leonardo Da Vinci
Upon the whole, Chymistry is as yet but an opening science, closely connected with the useful and ornamental arts, and worthy the attention of the liberal mind. And it must always become more and more so: for though it is only of late, that it has been looked upon in that light, the great progress already made in Chymical knowledge, gives us a pleasant prospect of rich additions to it. The Science is now studied on solid and rational grounds. While our knowledge is imperfect, it is apt to run into error: but Experiment is the thread that will lead us out of the labyrinth.
~ Joseph Black
Study the assumptions behind your actions. Then study the assumptions behind your assumptions.

You’re an English major, aren't you?” “Hey!” Immediately retreating, Keith swatted at him with a dishcloth. “Leave my brain alone. It’s resting.” “Sorry, sorry.” He leaned away, hands up to display his surrender. “I didn't mean it, I take it back.” “You’d better

You empower ignorance if you as teacher hide yourself among the students because you know less and give less... Don’t hide your identity, make it a reality!

Every beginner possesses a great potential to be an expert in his or her chosen field.
Never be discouraged. The fact that you will be a winner at the first attempt is unclear. You don’t get master’s degree after attending school on the first day. You got to endure till you get there.
If you have only a day to live, fill it with study and sex.

For a lack of education, a child's future may hold no fortune.

I wouldn't live in a colony like that, myself, for a thousand dollars an hour. I wouldn't want it next door. I'm not too happy it's within ten miles. Why? Because their soft-headedness irritates me. Because their beautiful thinking ignores both history and human nature. Because they'd spoil my thing with their thing. Because I don't think any of them is wise enough to play God and create a human society. Look. I like privacy, I don't like crowds, I don't like noise, I don't like anarchy, I don't even like discussion all that much. I prefer study, which is very different from meditation-not better, different. I don't like children who are part of the wild life. So are polecats and rats and other sorts of hostile and untrained vermin. I want to make a distinction between civilization and the wild life. I want a society that will protect the wild life without confusing itself with it.
~ Wallace Stegner

~ Henri Poincaré
Literature offers the thrill of minds of great clarity wrestling with the endless problems and delights of being human. To engage with them is to engage with oneself, and the lasting rewards are not confined to specific career paths.
~ Jonathan Stroud
Prayer without study would be empty. Study without prayer would be blind.
~ Karl Barth
The person who prays and who wants to gain a deeper understanding of the word he desires to worship (in order to be more single-mindedly at the word’s disposal) will select with great care basic works for his studies which will observe the so-called exactitude of scholarship without losing sight of the most important exactitude, namely, the ordering of all thought toward prayer.
~ Hans Urs Von Balthasar
The treasure of life, learning.
The authority of those who teach is often an obstacle to those who want to learn.
~ Marcus Tullius Cicero
When we set about accounting for a Napoleon or a Shakespeare or a Raphael or a Wagner or an Edison or other extraordinary person, we understand that the measure of his talent will not explain the whole result, nor even the largest part of it; no, it is the atmosphere in which the talent was cradled that explains; it is the training it received while it grew, the nurture it got from reading, study, example, the encouragement it gathered from self-recognition and recognition from the outside at each stage of its development: when we know all these details, then we know why the man was ready when his opportunity came.
~ Mark Twain
If you wanted to be the best then you had to swallow your pride and become a student of the game first.
~ Jon Osborne
To become a better you, keep doing what you have been doing right and learn to correct what you have been doing wrongly.
